STEP ONE - Preparing the plot

Whether we grow organically or not, we need to begin preparing the soil for planting. That means determining the desired planting area, marking the desired area, tilling the soil, beginning compost containers (for future fertilizer), and I'm sure many more things that I cannot think of at this moment. Ideas? Suggestions?

There are several ads for free compost/horse manure. Maybe a few of us can go pick some up.

We should receive the SPIN program materials next week and that will help us decide on some specifics. How about we meet after school today and look at what area we want to start with? Workroom at 1:00 and we'll take a field trip to the field!

We also have enough trucks between us to pick up lots o manure. Any day after school works for me.
